Besides, cosplaying isn’t about who’s better and who isn’t. It’s about having fun, making friends, and just enjoying shared interests. It’s not a competition.

Hell, if it was a competition, I would have dropped out ages ago.

You just have to stop comparing yourself to others. Otherwise, you will never be happy with anything you do. You will always spot things you want to change, or see people who did something better. 

Just have fun. If you don’t enjoy cosplaying, then what is the point? To be the best? 

Sweetie, just enjoy yourself. Make your outfits. Have fun. Meet new people. Enjoy time spent with friend. Otherwise, you’ll only bring yourself down.

Amen. Anyone thinking things like this should think back to why they started cosplaying in the first place. Was it to be the best? Or was it because you are a fan of the character or series? Or maybe you wanted to have fun and meet people who like some of the same things as you at conventions?

It’s sad if you constantly compare yourself to others when you should really only cosplay for yourself. Sure, if people like the work you’ve put into a costume, that’s never bad! But it’s not the be all, end all of cosplay. I’m not too good with words, but I can’t understand cosplaying if it’s not fun.
